titleOfInvention | Surgical stapler buttress assembly with moisture resistant adhesive |
abstract | A buttress assembly is disclosed that is configured to be temporarily adhered to a wet surgical stapler end effector. The support assembly includes a support body and a moisture resistant adhesive. The adhesive includes a bioabsorbable polymer having a block configuration selected from the group consisting of A-B-A and A-B-C. The A blocks are bioabsorbable homopolymers characterized by a glass transition temperature of at least about 0°C, a crystallinity of at least about 30% as measured by X-ray diffraction, and a melting temperature of at least about 50°C. The B block is a bioabsorbable homopolymer or copolymer characterized by a glass transition temperature of at least about -40°C, a crystallinity of up to about 25% as measured by X-ray diffraction, and from about 20 kDa to about 80kDa molecular weight. The C block is a water-miscible bioabsorbable hydrophilic homopolymer or copolymer at 37°C. |
