Composite materials comprising electrochemically active organic materials and electrochemically active inorganic materials are disclosed. The organic material comprises or consists of a subunit according to general formula (I) and/or (II), wherein in these structures (I) and (II) n is an integer not less than 2 and Y represents an amide (-NH-CO- or -CO-NH-), ester (-O-CO- or -CO-O-) or carbamate (-NH-CO-O- or -O-CO- NH-), R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 each independently represent H, alkyl (preferably -CH 3 , -C 2 H 5 ), alkoxy- (preferably -OCH 3 , -OC 2 H 5 ), -halogen or -CN, Ar 1 and Ar 4 independently represent bridged aryl, Ar 2 and Ar 3 independently represent non-bridged aryl, and R 5 is bridged alkyl, alkene or aryl. The inorganic particulate material comprises or consists of carbon material particles, metal oxide particles or mixtures comprising or consisting of these particles. In addition, electrodes and electrochemical elements comprising the electrodes are disclosed, as well as methods of producing the composite materials and the electrodes. |
