abstract The present invention provides stable monomeric phosphoplatinum, i.e. (pyrophosphate)platinum containing a cis-cyclohexanediamine ligand or an enantiomerically enriched or enantiomerically pure trans-cyclohexanediamine ligand (II) or platinum(IV) complexes, and the synthesis of these complexes. The efficacy and toxicity of phosphoplatinum compounds have been determined against a variety of cancers, including sensitive and resistant ovarian, head and neck, and colon cancers. Compositions comprising platinum complexes and methods of treating proliferative diseases or conditions with the complexes or compositions comprising the complexes are disclosed.
