abstract The present invention provides an optical filter comprising a polymer multilayer optical film. The optical film has a reflection band having a reflection band edge which is a short-wavelength band edge located on a short-wavelength side of the reflection band and a long-wavelength band edge located on the short-wavelength side of the reflection band, regardless of position. One of the long-wavelength bandedges on the side. The reflective bandedge has a normal incident reflective bandedge wavelength that varies with position, the normal incident reflective bandedge wavelength being a first wavelength at a first position and at a second position different from the first position is the second wavelength. The first wavelength may be at least 2% greater than the second wavelength.
