Particulate matter detection device |
abstract |
A particulate matter detection device is provided. This device is provided with an element part (41) for attaching PM contained in the exhaust gas of the engine (20), a heater (44) for heating the element part (41), and an electrical characteristic detection based on the element part (41). An amount detection unit for the amount of PM, and a temperature detection unit for detecting the temperature of the element unit (41). The device further includes a first temperature control unit (70(P1)) and a second temperature control unit (70(P2)). The first temperature control unit (70(P1)) uses the heater (44) to turn the element on the basis of the detected temperature of the element unit (41) during the first period except the period when PM adheres to the element unit (41). The part (41) is heated to a first temperature range in which soluble organic components contained in PM are combusted and ash components contained in PM are not melted. The first period is a period other than the period during which PM adheres to the element part (41). In addition, the second temperature control unit (70 (P2)) heats the element portion (41) with the heater (44) based on the detected temperature of the element portion (41) during the second period after the first period. The second temperature range in which coal contained in PM burns, which is higher than the first temperature range. |
