Process for producing charcoal granules or charcoal pellets using different additives as binders for biochar pellets. The method includes producing a mixture having charcoal and an additive selected from nanocrystalline cellulose, bentonite and polyvinyl acetate/sodium borate. The mixture is created by mixing one or more additives with charcoal. The mixture is then processed in a granulator unit. During processing, the surface of the mixture is sprayed with a liquid. Once converted into pellets by the pelletizer apparatus, the pellets obtained are dried by applying heat to the pellets. The liquid may be water or a solution of water and sodium borate. The charcoal pellets are used in biodiesel manufacture to remove water and glycerol from biodiesel. |
