abstract Apparatuses and methods for producing an inhalable medium are disclosed. An apparatus (1) comprising: a container (132, 232, 332, 432) for containing a liquid (118, 218, 318, 418); a heater (130, 230, 330, 430, 630, 730), for volatilizing, in use, a liquid contained in a container to generate a flow of at least one of a vapor and an aerosol; and a receiver (114, 214, 314, 414, 614, 714) for receiving material ( 124, 224, 324, 424, 624, 724a, 724b). The receiver is located adjacent to the heater such that, in use, material received in the receiver is heated with the heater. In use, one or more constituents of the material received in the receptacle are mixed with, in use, the stream of at least one of vapor and aerosol to produce an inhalable medium.
