abstract A circuit for voltage compensation in an electroluminescence (EL) device is disclosed. The circuit includes a pixel cell of the EL device, a resistive load associated with the pixel cell, and a switch. The pixel unit includes an electroluminescent (EL) device, a first capacitor for storing data related to the EL device, and a transistor including a gate coupled to a first end of the first capacitor and connected to the first end of the first capacitor. The first terminal coupled to the second terminal of the capacitor. The resistive load includes a second capacitor whose capacitance is much higher than that of the first capacitor. The switch selectively connects the pixel unit to a current sink through a resistive load.
