abstract The present invention relates to a dose control system suitable for use in an injectable drug delivery device comprising a substantially elongated drug delivery body, at least one injectable drug contained by the body, the body having a distal end and a proximal end, wherein The dose control system includes a three-dimensional magnetic field generating device for generating a magnetic field along three axes (x, y, z); a magnetic field detecting device configured to detect at least a change in the magnetic field generated by the three-dimensional magnetic field generating device; a displacement detecting device, being configured to measure relative displacement or relative movement of the drug delivery device; and an integrated control unit, wherein the integrated control unit is connected to the magnetic field detection device, and to the displacement detection device, for processing information from both the magnetic field detection device and the displacement detection device information; wherein the three-dimensional magnetic field generating device is configured to effect rotational coaxial displacement about and along a longitudinal axis of the drug delivery device; the magnetic field detecting device is positioned along the longitudinal axis; and the three-dimensional magnetic field generating device is located at a proximal end of the drug delivery device body or nearby.
