Preparation method and application of acellular cartilage graft |
abstract |
Disclosed herein is a method of preparing a decellularized cartilage graft. The method comprises the following steps: cartilage matrix obtained from animals is treated with an alkaline, sterilizing and decellularizing treatment to produce a decellularized cartilage graft. The cartilage graft prepared according to the method of the present invention can completely remove cellular material from the cartilage matrix while still maintaining the porosity and integrity of the collagen fibers in the cartilage matrix, and thus, the cartilage graft prepared according to the method of the present invention is suitable as a xenograft for host cell growth. Also disclosed herein is a method of treating a subject having an osteochondral disease by transplanting a decellularized cartilage graft to a lesion in the subject. |
