titleOfInvention | Energy harvesting, thermal management, multi-effect therapeutic garment |
abstract | The present invention provides an energy harvesting, thermal management, multi-effect therapeutic garment that defines an inner surface and an outer surface, and is seamlessly knitted using a predetermined number of yarns. The yarns used to construct the therapeutic garment are selected from: yarns for absorbing, storing and releasing thermal energy by phase change; yarns for converting thermal energy and ultraviolet radiation energy into far infrared radiation energy and radiating the far infrared radiation energy to additional yarns and body parts of a wearer; yarns for absorbing moisture from a body part of a wearer and/or the surrounding environment and generating thermal energy by an exothermic reaction; thermally insulating and hydrophobic yarns; and a thermally conductive yarn that maintains a uniform temperature within the yarn. The yarns of the therapeutic garment are twisted and woven to produce a uniform surface area distribution of yarns that contact and cover portions of the wearer's body. |
