abstract The invention provides a Chlorella ellipsoidea NF-YB gene and an application thereof, belonging to the technical field of microalgae genetic engineering. The Chlorella ellipsoidea NF-YB gene sequence is shown in SEQ ID No.1, and the encoded protein sequence is shown in SEQ ID No.2. The gene was derived from Chlorella ellipsoidea, and it was transformed into Arabidopsis thaliana. It was found that the total fatty acid content of the Arabidopsis thaliana transformed with CeNF-YB was 7.1%-11.2% higher than that of the wild-type Col-0, and the thousand-kernel weight was higher than that of the wild-type. An increase of 24.5%‑51%. It can be seen that the Chlorella ellipsoidea NF-YB gene can greatly increase the total oil content of plant cells, and the gene can be used in the field of biological oil preparation and crop yield improvement, and has a good application prospect.
