A method for quantifying ammonia, said method comprising: carrying out a first reaction, wherein an ammonia-containing test solution is reacted with ATP and L-glutamic acid in the presence of glutamine synthetase to produce ADP; carrying out a second reaction , wherein the produced ADP is reacted with glucose in the presence of ADP-dependent hexokinase to produce glucose-6-phosphate; a third reaction is performed wherein the ADP is reacted in the presence of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase The produced glucose-6-phosphate is reacted with an oxidized NAD compound to produce a reduced NAD compound; and the reduced NAD compound is quantified to quantify ammonia. |
