A method of manufacturing a component of a diamond and binder composite, wherein a hot isostatic gas pressure process (HIP) is used, the method comprising the steps of: a de-bonded green body (1) comprising compacted diamond particles is encapsulated in an infiltrant (2). The method comprises the following other steps: encapsulating the de-bonded green body (1) and a penetrant (2) in a Zr capsule (3) containing zirconium as a main component and sealing the Zr capsule (3), applying a predetermined pressure-temperature cycle on a unit formed by the de-bonded green body (1), the penetrant (2) and the capsule (3), in which cycle the penetrant (2) penetrates the de-bonded green body (1) and the de-bonded green body (1) is further densified in the sense that its volume is reduced. |
