abstract | The present invention provides a copolymer having excellent heat resistance, fluidity, mechanical properties, appearance, low water absorption and moldability. In addition, there is provided a method for producing a copolymer having excellent heat resistance, fluidity, mechanical properties, appearance, low water absorption, and moldability of the obtained copolymer. The present invention is a copolymer containing 80 mol% or more of methyl (meth)acrylate units (A), a Vicat softening temperature of 115°C or more, and a saturated water absorption at 60°C of 4 mass% or less , and the yellowness index is 1 or less. In addition, there is provided a method for producing a copolymer obtained by suspension polymerization of a monomer mixture containing methyl (meth)acrylate (a) 80 mol% or more and (meth)acrylic acid (b) 0.7 mol% or more and 7 mol% or less. The precursor is obtained by melt-kneading the obtained precursor with an extruder to obtain a methyl (meth)acrylate unit (A) of 80 mol% or more, a (meth)acrylic acid unit (B) of 0.45 mol% or more and 7 mol% or less and A copolymer containing glutaric anhydride units (C) of 0.001 mol % or more and 0.25 mol % or less. |
