titleOfInvention | Ethylene polymers having high density |
abstract | The present invention relates to an ethylene polymer comprising a moiety according to formula (I): wherein R is a moiety containing 1 or more and 10 or less carbon atoms; wherein the ethylene polymer has a molecular weight distribution of 3.0 or more and 13.0 or less; the ethylene polymer has a melting temperature of not less than 115 ℃; the ethylene polymer has a mass ratio of 935 to 960kg/m 3 (ii) a density of (d); the ethylene polymer is substantially free of chromium, hafnium, zirconium, and tetrahydrofuran; to have>100kg/mol of a fraction of said ethylene polymer having a molecular weight, the intrinsic viscosity of said ethylene polymer being related to said molecular weight according to the inequality log I.V. < 0.65 * log M-3.10. such polymers have high density, high purity and good processability, while maintaining barrier properties towards oxygen and water vapour at a level similar to that of high density polyethylene produced by a catalytic process. |
