Method for producing alkaline water and acidic water |
abstract |
A method of producing alkaline water and acidic water wherein the step of dissolving an alkaline salt in an initial water stream is further defined as adding a sodium propionate alkaline salt of a lower alkyl carboxylic acid to the initial water stream. The step of electrolyzing the feed stream further comprises a step of applying an electrical potential between the cathode and the anode. The step of applying an electrical potential is further determined by applying an electrical potential of 0.5V to 50V between the cathode and the anode. The alkaline water composition produced by the process contains zero hydroxide ions and defines a total alkalinity of between 40ppm and 510 ppm. Furthermore, the TDS of the alkaline water is between 58ppm and 1000ppm, the pH is between 10.0 and 12.0, the hardness grade is between 3.5 and 10 and the Langelier Index is between 0.37 and 2.20. |
