abstract The present invention provides a surgical stapler end effector that includes a staple cartridge, an anvil, and a buttress assembly. The staple cartridge includes a plurality of staples and a platform. The staple cartridge is operable to drive the staples through the platform. The anvil is movable toward the staple cartridge from an open position to a closed position. The anvil includes an underside having a staple-forming surface configured to receive staples driven through the platform. The buttress assembly includes a buttress body and an adhesive material. The adhesive material includes a polymer. The polymer is bioabsorbable. The polymer has a glass transition temperature (Tg) equal to or lower than 0°C.
