The present invention relates to a genetically modified yeast cell comprising: a) disruption of one or more aldehyde dehydrogenases (E.C: 1.2.1.4) native to said yeast; b) one or more More nucleotide sequences encoding heterologous NAD+-dependent acetylated acetaldehyde dehydrogenases (E.C.1.2.1.10); c) one or more encoding homologous or heterologous acetyl-CoA synthetases (E.C.6.2 .1.1); and d) lead to a 3-phosphoglycerophosphoryl phosphohydrolase (E.C.3.1.3.21) and/or a 3-phosphoglycerol dehydrogenase (E.C.1.1.1.8 or E.C.1.1.5.3) Modifications to reduce activity. |
