abstract The present invention provides a hydrophilic linker. This linker is used in ligand-drug conjugates, such as antibody-drug conjugates, to link the drug to the cell-binding ligand. Ligand-drug conjugates consist of a cell-binding ligand capable of binding to a specific cell density and a drug linked by a hydrophilic linker. Hydrophilic linkers comprise one or more hydrophilic groups that render the linker hydrophilic. This hydrophilic linker also contains functional groups at both ends that can conjugate drug and cell-binding ligands, respectively.
