abstract |
An implantable assembly includes an implantable device and a stretch-resistant member. The implantable device (eg, a coil) includes a proximal end and a distal end and defines a channel extending from the proximal end to the distal end, and a stretch-resistant member extends along the channel and connects to the distal end at a joint. The anti-stretch component includes a first component and a second component. A second component, distinct from and connected to the first component, includes a plurality of strands connected to the joint with a connection strength greater than the tensile strength of the first component. It also relates to a method of making an implantable component. |
