abstract The present invention provides a beam shaping device, for example for use as part of a spotlight. The collimator is for receiving light from the light source and for providing a more collimated output. The optical plate is arranged at the output of the collimator and comprises a lens array on the input side and a corresponding lens array on the opposite output side. The lenses are arranged as a pair of kohler lenses, and wherein at least some of the lenses on the output side are tilted with respect to the general plane of the optical plate. This tilting provides a design option for improving the beam shaping properties.
