The present invention describes novel stress-reducing cross-linked oligomers for use in dental restoratives, films, hardcoats, composites, adhesives and other applications subject to stress reduction. The addition-fragmentation process of the crosslinks leads to chain transfer consequences, which provide novel polymers that can be additionally functionalized. Additionally, addition-fragmentation oligomers contain pendant functional groups that etch the substrate by forming ionic or covalent bonds to the substrate or by chemically removing some material from the substrate. |
