abstract | Disclosed is a practical method for producing 3, 3-difluoro-2-hydroxypropionic acid, which is important as an intermediate for medical agricultural chemicals. Reacting 4, 4-difluoro-3-oxobutanoic acid ester with chlorine (Cl) 2 ) Reacting to obtain the 4, 4-difluoro-2, 2-dichloro-3-oxobutyrate. Followed by reaction with an acid to give 3, 3-difluoro-1, 1-dichloro-2-propanone. Finally, the reaction product is reacted with an aqueous alkaline solution, whereby 3, 3-difluoro-2-hydroxypropionic acid can be produced. |
