abstract | The invention discloses application of methyl 3, 4-dihydroxybenzoate (MDHB) in preparing a medicament for inducing directional differentiation of neural stem cells/neural precursor cells. The present inventors have found that MDHB has an action of directionally inducing differentiation from a neural stem cell/neural precursor cell into a cholinergic neuron, and that MDHB is useful for the development of a drug for treating a disease associated with injury or deletion of a cholinergic neuron (SCI, AD, etc.), a cell transplantation drug for treating a disease associated with injury or deletion of a cholinergic neuron (SCI, AD, etc.), a directional inducer for a neural stem cell/neural precursor cell, and the like. The invention determines the new pharmacological activity of MDHB, and the elucidation of the pharmacodynamic mechanism provides reference for developing new drugs with independent intellectual property rights, and provides a new method for searching a cholinergic neuron model by applying basic experiments in the field of neuroscience. |
