abstract The invention discloses construction of a FoMV-mediated VIGS vector and application thereof in gene silencing of monocotyledons. The FoMV-mediated VIGS vector is a vector for silencing a plant target gene by a Setaria viridis Mosaic Virus (Foxtail Mosaic Virus, FoMV) mediated exogenous fragments. The FoMV-mediated VIGS vector overcomes the difficulties of long genetic transformation period, complicated steps and the like of important economic crops, provides a powerful tool for the research of the gene function of monocotyledons, also provides an efficient technical means for the large-scale research of the functional genomics of the monocotyledons, and has important scientific significance and important application value.
