abstract The invention relates to a chrysanthemum nuclear factor CmNF-YB8 and application thereof in flowering phase regulation and juvenile leaf number regulation. Specifically, the invention relates to a CmNF-YB8 gene, the open reading frame of which has a nucleotide sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO.1 from 69 th to 560 th positions. The invention also relates to a nuclear factor protein which can be coded by the CmNF-YB8 gene, or has an amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO.2, or has 80%, preferably 90%, more preferably 95%, and even more preferably 99% identity relative to the sequence shown in SEQ ID NO.2 and has the same biological function. The invention also relates to the application of the CmNF-YB8 gene or the protein in the regulation of the flowering phase of plants or the quantity of young leaves. The invention can realize convenient and effective regulation and control of the flowering phase and the number of young leaves of the plant.
