The present invention aims to provide a dielectric ceramic composition and a multilayer ceramic capacitor, wherein the dielectric ceramic composition has good characteristics even under high electric field intensity, particularly good IR characteristics and good high-temperature load life. The dielectric ceramic composition of the present invention comprises: is represented by the formula (Ba) 1‑x‑y Sr x Ca y ) m (Ti 1‑Z Zr Z )O 3 A main component composed of the perovskite compound represented by the formula (I); a first subcomponent composed of an oxide of a rare earth element; and a second subcomponent as a sintering aid, wherein the dielectric ceramic composition contains dielectric particles which are all solid-solution particles formed of a diffusion phase in which a rare earth element is diffused, or core-shell particles having a high proportion of the diffusion phase, and the average concentration of the rare earth element in the diffusion phase is 5 to 20 atomic%, and the concentration distribution of the rare earth element in the diffusion phase is uniform. |
