Systems and methods for collecting nucleic acid samples |
abstract |
A system for collecting biomolecules comprising an extractor assembly comprising a top cover, an extractor core adapter, an extractor body having an interior volume, and a bottom cover ring. The top cap includes a sample connection port and is configured to be secured to the extractor body by the bottom cap ring. The extractor core is adapted to be removably attached to the connection interface of the top cover and comprises a base for collecting biomolecules. The extractor core adapter has an upstream open end for mating with a downstream end of the extractor core and a downstream protrusion configured to protrude through an opening in the extractor body. Methods of using the system to collect samples for transport and further processing to detect disease are also disclosed. |
