abstract |
A method for preparing a plant-derived virus like particle (VLP) is provided. The method may comprise obtaining a plant or plant matter comprising VLPs localized to apoplast, producing a protoplast/spheroplast fraction and an apoplast fraction from said plant or plant matter, and recovery of the apoplast fraction. The apoplast fraction contains VLPs of plant origin. Alternatively, VLPs can be obtained from plants or plant matter comprising plant-derived VLPs by digesting plant matter with a cell wall degrading enzyme composition to produce a digested fraction. The digestion fraction is filtered to produce a filtered fraction from which the plant-derived VLPs are recovered. |
