The present invention addresses the problem of providing a liquid crystal composition containing at least one compound represented by general formula (i) and at least one compound represented by general formula (N), wherein the total amount of the compounds represented by general formula (i) is 10% by mass or more, and a liquid crystal display element using the same. The solution is that the liquid crystal composition and liquid crystal display element using it of the invention, offer a kind of liquid crystal composition, it is a positive liquid crystal composition of Δ, and easy to control the gray scale characteristic by having flat transmission characteristic curve, further, through using this liquid crystal composition, offer the liquid crystal display element that the display failure caused by burn-in, drop mark, etc. is inhibited and presented the excellent display quality in high yield; and a liquid crystal display element using the liquid crystal composition. |
