abstract | A three-position plunger is provided, comprising: a sleeve having an opening at the distal end; a preload lumen adjacent to and in communication with the opening; and a first lumen adjacent to the preload lumen and communicate with the preload cavity; a second cavity adjacent to and in communication with the preload cavity; and at least one rib. The one or more ribs are generally aligned with the first cavity. The plunger further includes an insert configured to be displaced from the preload cavity to the first cavity and from the first cavity to the second cavity. The insert is configured to provide compressive support for the one or more ribs when the insert is placed in the first cavity. |
