Acoustically activated cosmetic hydrogels |
abstract |
Described herein are compositions that include activatable aggregates. Aggregates have a core and a shell. In certain embodiments, the aggregate core comprises a hydrogel capable of absorbing relatively large amounts of water upon exposure of the aggregate to acoustic energy. The aggregate core is covalently bound to the linear aliphatic partial shell. Aggregates were synthesized to minimize the amount of water in the core and subsequently exposed to acoustic energy. Methods of hydration with the compositions are also provided. |
