Substituted norovirus capsid protein monomers containing only the P‑domain, referred to as Antigen‑Norovirus P‑domain monomers, containing the presence of Foreign antigens in one or more of the three surface loops. The antigen-P-domain monomer can spontaneously assemble into an octahedral form, known as the antigen-norovirus P-particle, which consists of 24 copies of the antigen-P-domain monomer. Each substituted P-domain monomer can contain 1 to 3 copies of foreign antigen, for a total of 24-72 antigen copies per antigen-P-particle. The Antigen-P-particles can be used in the diagnosis, immunization and treatment methods of individuals infected with foreign viruses (such as rotavirus), and can also be used as a presentation vehicle for foreign antigens for the development of anti-infectious and non-infectious agents.
