The present invention relates to a process for the production of potassium sulphate granules, wherein during the granulation process, 0.1 wt% to 7.5 wt% of a compound selected from sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, sodium sulfate hydrate, sodium hydroxide and any mixture thereof The sodium salt is added to the potassium sulfate, the weight percentages are relative to the potassium sulfate used. In addition, 0.1 wt% to 2.5 wt% water was added before or during the granulation process. The present invention also relates to the use of the granules obtained by said process and the sodium salts and potassium glauberite and mixtures thereof to improve the mechanical properties of potassium sulphate granules. The potassium sulphate granules produced by the process according to the invention have significantly greater fracture strength and significantly greater abrasion resistance than granules known from the prior art. |
