Foam Lined Respiratory Equipment |
abstract |
A mask assembly for respiratory therapy may allow delivery of breathable gas to a user. In one example, a mask may employ a frame and cushion to form a seal for both the mouth and nose. The frame may be adapted for coupling with a respiratory therapy device to allow delivery of pressurized gas from the respiratory therapy device. The padding (which may be foam) and frame components may be made in an overmolding process which molds the frame over a preformed foam padding. This molding process can create a mechanical and/or chemical bond between the foam and the mask frame components. The mask frame part may be a housing of a plenum chamber, for example a housing of plenum chambers for both the nose and mouth. Various features of the cushion further facilitate the seal and enhance the comfort of the under-nose design. |
