The present invention relates to the chromatographic separation of target cells or another complex biological material, in particular by column chromatography such as affinity chromatography or gel permeation chromatography. The present invention employs receptor binding reagents that bind to receptor molecules located on the surface of target cells. In general, the present invention provides novel methods for the traceless separation of biological materials, such as cells, organelles, viruses, and the like. The invention also relates to an apparatus for separating cells and other complex biological materials. |
