Provided herein are compositions and methods for treating and/or preventing neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. In specific aspects, the compositions administered herein encode elements of a cellular immune response. The composition can be prepared and administered in such a way that the sequence encoding the cellular immune response element is expressed in the subject to which the composition is administered. Compositions include expression systems, delivery systems, and certain cellular immune response element genes. |
