titleOfInvention | Oxygenated Anion Concentration Determination Using Aluminum Reagent |
abstract | To determine the concentration of oxyanions in an aqueous solution, an aluminum reagent is added to the aqueous solution to form an optical analysis solution. The addition of aluminum reagents may or may not form aluminum-oxyanion hydroxide hydrate precipitates. Light is introduced into the optical analysis solution to determine the optical response of the optical analysis solution. Thereafter, the concentration of oxyanions in the aqueous solution is determined from the optical response of the optical analysis solution. For example, when the aluminum reagent concentration corresponds to the inflection point of the optical response of the optical assay solution, the concentration of the oxyanion can be calculated using a molar ratio that relates the concentration of the oxyanion to the concentration of the aluminum reagent. |
