abstract The present invention relates to N-alkylaryl-5-oxyaryl-octanedihydrocyclopentadieno[c]pyrrole, a negative allosteric modulator of NR2B receptors useful in the treatment of neurological diseases, which has the formula I , wherein R 1 , R 2 , L1, L2, X, Y and Y' are as described herein. In one aspect, compounds of formula I and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, prodrugs, solvates, hydrates, tautomers or stereoisomers thereof are described, wherein: L1 is optionally substituted by one or more substituents A linear or branched C1-C5 alkyl group selected from OH, ORIO, NH2, NHRio and N(Rlo)(Rio'), with the proviso that not more than one oxygen or nitrogen is attached to any carbon.
