abstract | The present invention addresses the problem of providing a binder, an electrode-forming material containing the binder, and a method for forming an electrode using the electrode-forming material, wherein when an electrode active material and a conductive additive are coated on a current collector with the binder, the active material in the electrode coated on the current collector has a high density and has excellent adhesion to the current collector. The solution of the present invention is an electrode forming material for coating on a current collector, the electrode forming material comprising an electrode active material and a binder, the binder comprising: a carboxyl group-containing polysaccharide, a reaction product of the carboxyl group-containing polysaccharide and an epoxy compound, or a combination thereof, and a viscosity of an aqueous solution containing 3 mass% of the binder at 25 ℃ is in the range of 20 to 1500 mPas. The carboxyl group-containing polysaccharide is preferably carboxymethyl cellulose, alginic acid, or a salt thereof. As the electrode active material, a lithium cobalt composite oxide or graphite may be used. As the conductive aid, a carbon raw material may be used. |
