abstract The invention discloses a method for degrading organic pollutants by utilizing ferric trichloride. The method comprises the following steps in sequence: adding 0.08mL to 0.2mL of formic acid into 1L of water to be treated; then adding 0.2g to 1g of the ferric trichloride and stirring for 1min to 10min, so as to remove organic matters in the water to be treated. The method is simple and effective and can be used for rapidly removing the pollutants in the water.
