| abstract |
An absorbent article that can be more easily adapted to meet the needs of the individual wearer of the absorbent article. The absorbent article may have a topsheet layer, a backsheet layer, and an absorbent core between the topsheet layer and the backsheet layer. The backsheet layer may have a garment attachment mechanism on a garment facing surface of the backsheet layer. The absorbent article may also have a protective layer over and engaged with the garment attachment mechanism. The protective layer may be at least partially detachable from the garment attachment mechanism. The protective layer of the absorbent article may be used by the wearer to provide additional coverage areas of the absorbent article as the wearer sees fit. |
