Systems and methods for monitoring and controlling an absorbent article converting line |
abstract |
The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for monitoring a substrate advancing longitudinally along a converting tool. The device may include an analyzer connected to the line scan camera via a communication network. Analyzers can be configured as field programmable gate arrays, application specific integrated circuits, or graphics processing units. Furthermore, the line scan camera may comprise a linear array of pixel data and define a linear field of view, wherein the line scan camera is arranged such that the linear field of view extends longitudinally. The device may also include an illumination source that illuminates the linear field of view. In operation, the substrate is advanced longitudinally such that a portion of the substrate is advanced through the linear field of view. In turn, the device can be configured to perform various monitoring and/or control functions. |
