titleOfInvention | Systems and methods for suture delivery |
abstract | The present disclosure provides systems and methods for suturing tissue. An elongated deployment bearing carries a needle deployment assembly having a needle carrying suture material and a stabilizer that is reconfigurable between an undeployed insertion profile and a deployed profile. The catch tube on the shaft with the catch at the distal end can hold at least a portion of the needle carrying the suture material as the needle passes through the tissue to be sutured into engagement with the catch. The sheath over the trap tube can clip the tissue to be stapled against the stabilizer when deployed. The first actuator can move the catch tube relative to the axial distal end to shorten the distance between the proximal end of the stabilizer and the distal end of the stabilizer for deployment of the stabilizer, and can move the sheath relative to the axial distal end The end is moved to clip into the tissue. The second actuator can deflect the needles radially outward to move proximally through the tissue to be stapled and engage the catches, and then return a portion of each needle not retained by the catches to the distal position to Used to withdraw the device. |
