abstract The present invention relates to the technical field of biology, particularly to uses of an inulin and common yam rhizome polysaccharide composition in preparation of health food having an intestinal flora regulating effect, wherein a weight ratio of the inulin to the common yam rhizome polysaccharide in the composition is 1:3-3:1. According to the present invention, by inducing a mouse obese type 2 diabetes model through a high fat feed, the influence of the inulin and common yam rhizome polysaccharide composition on mouse lipid metabolism through intestinal floras is observed, wherein the inulin and common yam rhizome polysaccharide composition can regulate the intestinal flora disorder caused by diet, can significantly change the ratio of the beneficial bacterial to the harmful bacteria in the intestinal flora, and can make the unbalanced intestinal flora tend to the normal state so as to regulate the obese blood fat index and the obsess blood glucose index caused by the intestinal flora disorder caused by diet, significantly reduce the triglyceride content in plasma, and reduce the cholesterol content, the low density lipoprotein content and the free fatty acid content.
