The present invention relates to the regeneration of spent alkaline solutions, such as alkaline electrolyte solutions used in metal/air batteries, especially aluminum/air batteries. The present invention provides methods and systems for regenerating alkaline electrolyte solutions by adding water and optionally other solvents to the spent electrolyte solution, thereby precipitating metal hydroxides from the spent electrolyte solution. |
