Disclosed are fibers containing identifying fibers that can be used to track and trace fibers, yarns, fiber tapes, and/or articles containing the fibers through at least a portion of a supply chain. Each identified fiber exhibits at least one unique characteristic. Each set of distinguishable identifying fibers may exhibit a marker cross-sectional shape, a marker cross-sectional size, or a combination of the same marker cross-sectional shape and the same marker cross-sectional size. The unique characteristics and numbers of fibers in each set of distinguishable identified fibers may represent at least one supply chain component of that fiber. This unique characteristic can be detected in articles containing the fibers. |
