titleOfInvention Honeycomb structure comprising a cement skin composition having crystalline inorganic fibrous material
abstract A honeycomb support structure is disclosed that includes a honeycomb body and an outer layer or skin formed of cement including an inorganic filler material having a first coefficient of thermal expansion from 25 ℃ to 600 ℃ and a crystalline inorganic fiber material having a second coefficient of thermal expansion from 25 ℃ to 600 ℃. The composition of the skin cement controls the level of migration of the liquid/colloidal components of the cement, such as water, colloidal silica and methyl cellulose, into the substrate during the skin application process to form a barrier to prevent skin wetting and staining during the process of applying the lining coating.
