titleOfInvention | Catheter assembly including direct heating element and associated systems and methods for renal neuromodulation |
abstract | Disclosed herein are catheter devices, systems, and methods for achieving renal neuromodulation through intravascular access. One aspect of the present technology relates, for example, to a treatment device having a direct heating element configured for delivery to a renal blood vessel. The processing device is capable of selectively transitioning between a delivery or low profile state and a deployed state. The direct heating element is housed within the occlusion element sized and shaped so that the direct heating element contacts the inner wall of the occlusion element while the outer wall of the occlusion element simultaneously contacts the inner wall of the renal vessel when the treatment assembly is in the deployed state . The direct heating element is configured to apply thermal energy to heat nerve fibers that contribute to renal function. |
